Reloadable Fare Card FAQs

Where can I buy the reloadable card?

The new cards will be available for purchase at the regular points of sales listed at the bottom of the web page. You can also order a card through the online portal: codiac-prod.gfcp.io/efare/. The cards ordered online can either be mailed to your home for a $2 fee, or you can pick it up at the Codiac Transpo headquarters (140 Millenium Blvd.).

How do I create an account?

Visit our online portal (codiac-prod.gfcp.io/efare/) to create an account. Click the ‘sign up’ button on the righthand side of the top menu. You’ll be prompted to fill out a form asking for your name, email address, and a password for your account.

How do I add passes to my account?

Once your account has been created you can buy passes by selecting the ‘get a new card’ button or you can register an existing card. When you buy a new pass, you can choose between three products: period passes (30-day passes), ride passes (1, 10, and 20-ride passes), and pay as you go. Select the type of pass you would like to purchase and click the ‘view cart’ button to enter your shipping information. Complete the purchase by selecting ‘go to checkout’ and adding your credit card information.

How do I use the reloadable card to board the bus?

Tap the reloadable card on top of the farebox to board the bus. The screen will display your balance.

When do the current cards stop working?

Current cards will no longer be accepted as of May 12. New fareboxes will be installed on buses between May 4 and 11. During this transition period, transit service will be free. You can transfer the balance from your old card to your new reloadable fare card by contacting info@codiactranspo.ca or call 506-857-2008.

How do students and seniors qualify for discounted fares?

Seniors and students are eligible for discounted 30-day passes. To receive the discount, we need to verify eligibility with a valid piece of identification that includes the date of birth. Once you’ve created your account on the online portal (codiac-prod.gfcp.io/efare/), you must visit Codiac Transpo (140 Millennium Blvd., Moncton) to show your ID in person (students must also bring their student card). When the validation process is complete, you will have access to the senior or student pricing directly in your online portal.

How much does the card cost?

The reloadable fare card will be free until October. After that, there will be a $4 fee.

Can I transfer my balance from an old card?

Yes. To transfer, please contact us via email at info@codiactranspo.ca or call 506-857-2008. Please note that you must have a reloadable fare card before doing the transfer.

How do I check my balance?

Sign in to your account through the online portal (codiac-prod.gfcp.io/efare/). From the left-hand menu, select ‘my cards’, then choose ‘manage card’ for the card you’d like to view. Your balance will be displayed there.

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Contact Codiac Transpo at info@codiactranspo.ca or (506) 857-2008 to report the stolen/lost card. Make sure to register your reloadable fare card on the online portal (codiac-prod.gfcp.io/efare/) to benefit from balance protection.

How do I use the new farebox?

> Reloadable card: tap card on top of farebox (there will be an icon with a card and a wifi symbol). >Codiac+ mobile ticket: scan the QR code on bar code scanner on the farebox to validate mobile ticket. >Cash: Insert exact change or bills to pay on farebox. The screen will show that the selected payment method has been accepted.

Can I still pay with cash?

Yes. The new farebox still accepts cash as payment to board the bus.

Does the farebox return change?

The farebox does not provide change, so please be sure to have the exact fare ready. The cost of the trip is $3.

How do transfers work?

You may request a paper transfer from the bus operator after tapping or scanning your card on the farebox. The transfer is valid for up to 90 minutes across all routes.
