Transit Facts
The City of Moncton’s Codiac Transit Commission provides public transit for Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview, and Lakeside.
Buses run 355 days of the year (excluding statutory holidays) serving 1.8 million passengers annually.

Moncton’s first public transit system began in 1896 when electric streetcars operated downtown at a cost of $0.25 per trip. Moncton City Council established Codiac Transit as a wholly owned city department on August 1, 1980.
Today, Codiac Transit provides 40 buses on 18 transit routes, which includes the Express route complete with free wireless Internet, launched in August 2007. All buses are equipped with bike racks during the spring, summer and fall months.
