Smoking

Smoking, including E cigarettes are prohibited on all buses and within 10 meters of a shelter.  

 

Not Permitted 

No food, drink, or pets are permitted on public transit (exceptions include service dogs).

 

Dress Code

 

Shirts and shoes must be worn.

 

Guidelines & Restrictions   

* No person shall smoke in or on Codiac Transpo property or carry a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, other tobacco product including electronic cigarettes or any other lighted smoking equipment or material while in or on Codiac Transpo property.
 
* No person, unless authorized, shall enter or remain on any Codiac Transpo property that is in possession of:
 
 (a) a firearm, air gun, air rifle, pellet gun, pellet rifle, gas charged gun, gas charged rifle, imitation firearm, an offensive weapon or a prohibited weapon; or
 
 (b) explosives, pyrotechnical material, flammable material, offensive or toxic material, or any other dangerous thing, object or material.

 

 

Transporting Dangerous Goods

In accordance with Department of Transport regulations, customers are not permitted to transport any dangerous goods on public buses. Thank you for your cooperation with this important safety regulation. For more information please visit: Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations

Baby Strollers/Walkers

Please be advised for safety reasons all baby strollers must be folded before entering the bus and stowed behind a seat. Walkers must be stowed behind a seat. The aisle must be kept clear. If you have any questions, please call the Director of Operations at 857-2008 between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

 

Seniors Ride Free

Seniors 65+ ride free on Wednesdays.  Proof of age required. 

Pets

Pets secured in an enclosed container are permitted on a transit bus; however, an uncaged Service Animal (ex. seeing-eye dog) may accompany a passenger at any time.

 

Courtesy Seating

Courtesy or priority seating areas are available near the front of our buses.  These seats are intended for customers, who may have difficulty standing in a moving vehicle, including:

• Persons with disabilities
• Senior citizens
• Persons with assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, walkers and canes
• Pregnant women
• Customers with strollers

Codiac Transit encourages all customers to be courteous and yield the courtesy seating to those who need it. As well, please remember that many customers do not have an obvious disability, but may need these seats because of an invisible disability.
